Buddy and his wife Edna went to the state fair every year, and every year Buddy would say,
‘Edna,I’d like to ride in that helicopter’
Edna always replied,
‘I know Buddy, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks’
One year Buddy and Edna went to the fair, and Buddy said,
‘Edna, I’m 85 years old. If I don’t ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance’
To this, Edna replied,
“Buddy that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks’
The pilot overheard the couple and said,
‘Folks I’ll make you a deal. I’ll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don’t say a word I won’t charge you a penny! But if you say one word it’s fifty dollars.’
Buddy and Edna agreed and up they went.
The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, but still not a word…
When they landed, the pilot turned to Buddy and said,
‘By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn’t. I’m impressed!’
Buddy replied,
‘Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Edna fell out, but you know, Fifty bucks is fifty bucks!’

The Scottish people get to choose their destiny today! This is a great example of true democracy and I hope that the people of Scotland choose independence. There has been a lot of naysayers out in the market saying that it will hurt the Scottish people and all these other excuses. The fact of the matter is that if Scotland goes independent the British will lose most of the money from the North Sea Oil Fields. They use that as major source of collateral for debt financing. Yeah there would be questions about what currency the Scots would use and a few other challenges. But what is that compared to having your own sovereign country. Scotland would be free of NATO and the EU as well as Britain. It sounds like a fresh start for a country that had been occupied for almost a thousand years. Wow, this is history in the making. As far as a currency they should create the “Braveheart” which could be backed up by the north sea oil fields and silver. That would give them the most solid currency foundation in the entire world. Then that would attract investment and like Iceland (England’s last Martyr from the financial collapse in 08) they would enjoy the windfall of a stable currency and a government that could put policies in place to attract foreign investment.

Listening to Trevor speak was the highlight of the “Gathering of the Eagles” conservative event I attended over the weekend up in Turner. He spoke about many things which I thought were relevant to what is really taking place in the country today. His analysis on the fracture in the Republican part was spot on and his proposed solution was even better. By declaring now the 2016 cabinet it will give the GOP, Tea Party, Independents, and even reformed Democrats, who are sick of increase taxation and plain out lawlessness by the administration something to support. We need representatives who reflect the values of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to everyone equally under the law.

Mid-Willamette Fire School in Sweet Home
Wrapping up the 18th annual Mid-Willamette fire school in Sweet Home last week. The event was a successful collaboration of the Oregon Department of Forestry, Willamette, Siuslaw, Umpqua, and Rouge River National Forests.
“The Fire School provides essential training in wild land fire for new firefighters and offers seasoned firefighters a chance to expand their skills and explore leadership opportunities” said Co-incident Commander Craig Pettinger.
Trainees spend the first part of the week in an intensive classroom setting that includes several field sessions. The five-day course culminates in a live fire exercise at the end of the week.
I had a great time participating in the media day coverage event of their final live fire final exercise. I was privileged to interview Candice Lawrence about the week and ask her some questions about this upcoming fire season.

Obama’s “End Game” for Illegal Immigration
Obama continues to openly fuel the crises of illegal immigration by hosting an event to honor individuals who promote amnesty. This is the type of behavior which encourages more impoverished immigrants to risk life and limb to come to America because they are promised not to be turned away.
Tens of thousands of illegals from some of the most failed countries in central America, are now being cared for at military bases and churches throughout Texas. Who is footing the bill for their care? You are, at the cost of about $250 dollars per person per day. Couldn’t we be using that money to help homeless American Veterans? We could, however, that would not serve the political purpose of the President and his progressive authoritarian party.
What could be politically more important than keeping a constitutionally required secure boarder? Perhaps we should ask groups like Battleground Texas, who’s stated objective is to turn the largest conservative state left in the union “Blue” or in other words progressive.
With the current motor-voter law in place, anybody who can secure a drivers license has the ability to vote. So what happens to Texas when hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are granted DE facto amnesty by the Obama administration, through lack of boarder enforcement? You will get all of those new voters to collect a bunch of goodies in the form of Health care, tuition, food stamps, and housing benefits. Who will these individuals vote for?
You guessed it, Progressive Authoritarians who are already raising your taxes, increasing regulations, and eroding your God given rights recognized and protected in the bill of rights.
How will conservative Americans ever win another presidential election, if States like Texas are effectively highjacked with the use of Foreign nationals being bribed with free goodies?
Ask yourself this question because the future of free American Citizens depends on it.

STUDS ‘OKAY’ ON OREGON ROADS TUESDAY 11/1–OR ARE THEY??
Tuesday, November 1st is when studded tires are legal again in Oregon for the winter season. The tires are used most often in rural areas that can be hit with lots of ice and snow on the roads. Proponents say they save untold numbers of lives and reduce injuries and property damage. Opponents say on dry pavement, studded tires do much more damage than ODOT has the money to fix. ODOT recommends carrying chains, and stopping to chain up every time it snows, then taking them off every time you hit dry pavement. ODOT also says expensive new high-tech snow tires outperform studded tires in many winter driving conditions. And a Portland man is trying to get a studded tire ban on the November, 2012 ballot.
VOTE ON STUDDED TIRE BAN POSSIBLE
The Oregon Supreme Court has finally cleared the way for a Portland man to circulate petitions calling for a statewide vote on banning studded tires. Jeff Bernards was opposed from the outset by a group led by a former Governor Kulongoski spokeswoman, who now works for a public relations and lobbying firm hired by tire companies. He won in court, so he can now try to collect 80-thousand signatures. He says he will try to collect 110-thousand signatures, to be sure the studded tire ban qualifies for the ballot. Bernards says studded tires cause more damage to Oregon roads than the state can afford to fix. Opposition to the measure is expected from drivers in rural areas.
