We are dedicated to bringing you the best of News and Talk radio. Please take a look at the shows we air for your listening pleasure on AM 720 KFIR, the voice of the valley! News updates every 15 minutes.

Local News Director, Karla Davenport

Karla is the producer for I Spy Radio, guiding it through its 10 years of growing success. But with a desire to do more, especially with an eye on local and regional stories, she began reporting news for KFIR 720AM in August 2019. Now, she’s taken on the additional role as their News Director. She’s lived in Oregon her whole life and remembers her dad saying to her as a young girl that “If you find yourself in the extreme, you’re probably in the wrong.”  Seeing Portland under attack by extremists, a governor drunk on power protecting those extremists, and people rightfully angry and frustrated about all of it, the reality of her dad’s words ring out. Her experience, along with an undergraduate degree in communications, and a master’s degree in Education, specializing in public policy, is why Karla works to deliver news listeners can trust as the cornerstone of KFIR News. And, as the “Voice of the Valley,” we work to earn our listeners trust every day.

Larry took some time away from radio/TV to run a highly successful candidacy during the Gavin Newsom re-call election in 2021. While the voters did not re-call the governor that time, Elder proved he was a viable candidate garnering the most votes of the 50 candidates running to replace Newsom. From that experience, Elder decided to run for President of the United States in the 2024 election. He dropped out of that race in October 2023, and threw his support behind former president Donald Trump.
