Mid-Willamette Fire School in Sweet Home
June 30, 2014Wrapping up the 18th annual Mid-Willamette fire school in Sweet Home last week. The event was a successful collaboration of the Oregon Department of Forestry, Willamette, Siuslaw, Umpqua, and Rouge River National Forests.
“The Fire School provides essential training in wild land fire for new firefighters and offers seasoned firefighters a chance to expand their skills and explore leadership opportunities” said Co-incident Commander Craig Pettinger.
Trainees spend the first part of the week in an intensive classroom setting that includes several field sessions. The five-day course culminates in a live fire exercise at the end of the week.
I had a great time participating in the media day coverage event of their final live fire final exercise. I was privileged to interview Candice Lawrence about the week and ask her some questions about this upcoming fire season.

Supreme Court on a roll…..
June 30, 2014This morning the Supreme Court got another decision right. They ruled in a close 5-4 decision to allow Hobby Lobby and other corporations structured similarly, to forgo paying for contraception for their workers. Justice Roberts was the deciding vote in favor of supporting religious freedom from the Obamacare mandate. We should not forget that it is the same justice Roberts who flip flopped, when the law first came to the courts and effectively ruled that it was constitutional for force people to participate in commerce against their will or be fined by the IRS.
More importantly it reminds constitutionally minded individuals, that this country is 1 supreme court justice away from the executive branch and the supreme court effectively become one unified voice in support for progressive authoritarianism. If any of the conservative justices pass on while Obama or his democratic successor are in office, they will choose another progressive justice to fill the seat.
With the supreme court in the pocket of the White House Ideologically and a congress whom has already abrogated many of its enumerated powers to the bureaucracy. This will leave the White House in a position where they can continue to issue executive orders like a monarchy and with an army of recently militarized bureaucrats push their will upon the American people. However, as long as people have food in their stomachs and the one eyed monster to tell them how great everything is, they wont miss the fact that our country is no longer a representative government by any measurement based in reality.

Supreme Court Gets Desicion Right On Cell Phone Privacy
June 25, 2014After the Supreme Court ruled that Americans could be forced to buy a product or participate in a program against their will via “Obamacare”. I had pretty much lost faith in them to take the constitutionally correct action. So you can imagine my surprise to see them actually defend the bill of rights, in regards to protecting citizens right to be secure in their papers by upholding the fourth amendment. Even against the wishes of the administration whose push against civil liberties is well documented. I encourage the supreme court to continue to side with the citizenries rights which are clearly defined in our nations founding document.

VA Hospital Scandal………..
June 24, 2014“The problems at the VA are worse than anyone imagined,” Mr. Coburn said. “Over the past decade, more than 1,000 veterans may have died as a result of VA’s misconduct and the VA has paid out nearly $1 billion to veterans and their families for its medical malpractice.”
The revelations keep on coming out of the VA Hospital scandal. What is it going to take fix the problem? First, we have to discover the extent of the corruption throughout the VA system. In order to do this effectively we need more whistle blowers! The problem lies in the fact that this administration despite campaign promises, have persecuted whistle blowers more than any administration in history.
This is why if you want something done, you are probably going to have to do it yourself. I don’t understand why I haven’t heard a peep out of all of these Veterans Organizations? Are they afraid of the IRS targeting there tax exempt status? I don’t blame them. However, if we ever want to get to the bottom of this scandal and fix the problems with the VA, we have to demonstrate.
Look at the success the veterans had when they stormed the closed national monuments! Could you imagine the glory of Veterans peacefully demonstrating at every state capital across the nation? Advocating protection for whistle blowers and demanding real solutions. I can see tens of thousands of patriotic Americans standing beside Veterans of all ages, supporting those who sacrificed for all of our freedoms. Now that is America, land of the free and home of the brave.

This is why if a promise is not put in writing it does not truly exist, especially when you are dealing with any government. These individuals where raised in a day and age where trusting the government was implied. That in no way the government was not looking out for your best interests. Well let this be a lesson to all of you about the true nature of bureaucracy. Bureaucracy has no face and absolutely no heart. Keep this in mind when you are trying to navigate the minefield of life in the U.S. these days. The only individual that has your best interests at heart a 100% of the time is you. Take responsibility for your life, question reality, and do your own research!BTW: New Gallop poll has the congresses approval rating at 7%. To put this into perspective King George had a better approval rating leading up to the revolutionary war!

Obama’s “End Game” for Illegal Immigration
June 18, 2014Obama continues to openly fuel the crises of illegal immigration by hosting an event to honor individuals who promote amnesty. This is the type of behavior which encourages more impoverished immigrants to risk life and limb to come to America because they are promised not to be turned away.
Tens of thousands of illegals from some of the most failed countries in central America, are now being cared for at military bases and churches throughout Texas. Who is footing the bill for their care? You are, at the cost of about $250 dollars per person per day. Couldn’t we be using that money to help homeless American Veterans? We could, however, that would not serve the political purpose of the President and his progressive authoritarian party.
What could be politically more important than keeping a constitutionally required secure boarder? Perhaps we should ask groups like Battleground Texas, who’s stated objective is to turn the largest conservative state left in the union “Blue” or in other words progressive.
With the current motor-voter law in place, anybody who can secure a drivers license has the ability to vote. So what happens to Texas when hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are granted DE facto amnesty by the Obama administration, through lack of boarder enforcement? You will get all of those new voters to collect a bunch of goodies in the form of Health care, tuition, food stamps, and housing benefits. Who will these individuals vote for?
You guessed it, Progressive Authoritarians who are already raising your taxes, increasing regulations, and eroding your God given rights recognized and protected in the bill of rights.
How will conservative Americans ever win another presidential election, if States like Texas are effectively highjacked with the use of Foreign nationals being bribed with free goodies?
Ask yourself this question because the future of free American Citizens depends on it.

Iraq Veterans watch in horror as their sacrifices are squanderd

American Veterans are sick over the news about major sections of Iraq falling to Al Qaeda. This on the heels of the ongoing VA Hospital scandal has really brought into focus the clear lack of leadership coming out of the White
House. I remember the supposed Weapons of Mass destruction story which was sold to the American people to support the invasion of Iraq. The weapons never materialized….. Now the American people feel sick to their core about the lost lives of our troops, who apparently fought and died for nothing as Iraq falls into terrorist control. Let us all stop and remember this when the administration celebrates another per-mature victory in Afghanistan and pulls out our remaining forces. Will Afghanistan fall back under the reign of terrorism? Only time will tell. -
HERO HALF MARATHON

Sweet Home is hosting the Hero Half Marathon this Memorial Day weekend. The Hero Half Marathon is a great event which supports three different charitable organizations. Proceeds from the event will go to Operation Home front, Wounded Warrior Project, and the Keaton Coffey Memorial Scholarship fund.I had the great privilege to interview Grant Coffey, father of Keaton Coffey to talk about the event, his son, and the memorial fund in his honor.
