Kroger says she has spent much of that time specializing in domestic violence cases. Kroger said there is an overwhelming need in Oregon to combat domestic violence, saying that there have been nine domestic violence homicides in Oregon so far this year. In a bit of irony, the appointment comes just days after Kroger’s Assistant A.G. Susan Gerber pleaded guilty to punching and strangling her long-time lesbian domestic partner Janice Dulle. For her domestic violence, Gerber got no jail time, but must attend anger management classes.

This prosecutor knows very little about the grooming that goes on in complex sex abuse and stalking cases. Greenawald does not understand that a “sexually abusive” situation does not require penetration in order to constitute sexual abuse. This is case specific (Yamhill County Case #08004613) and this is regarding a case that Erin Greenawald prosecuted.
Here is a general outline and synopsis of the case: Jill who is married to Jack contracted a treatable STD from Jack. Jill treats the STD, and divorces Jack. Jack moves out but has the kids about half the time. After Jack moves out, he gets kicked out of the new place. Jack has no place to live.
Jill reluctantly allows Jack to move back in and sleep in a separate bedroom. Jack’s motivation is reconciling with Jill. Jill talks to her pastor who says that she should not be sleeping with Jack. Jack climbs in Jill’s bed one night and Jill screams, get the F#&% out of my bed! Jack does not like this and calls the police two days later on Christmas eve. Jack says to the 911 operator, “My wife is having a mental breakdown. I climbed into Jill’s bed, she told me to get out of the bed. If I don’t get out of her bed she will kill me!” Jack fails to tell the operator that the reason for the phone call is Jill will not attend an extended family Christmas function. Jack has also not told the extended family about the divorce. The police come over, initially harass Jill. Then talks to Jill about the reason why she does not want sex with Jack. The police explain to Jack that Jill does not want to have sex with him and that if he persists, he will be arrested. The police hand both of them a domestic rights packet and leave. ON DECEMBER 23, 2008 AT ABOUT 1524 HOURS, JACK DOE REPORTED THAT JILL DOE IS HAVING A MENTAL BREAKDOWN. UPON ARRIVAL, I MET WITH JILL WHO ADVISED ME THAT SHE IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE MARRIAGE AND WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT ADULTERY. SHE SAID SHE SHOULDN’T BE SLEEPING WITH JACK AS IT IS WRONG. SHE SAID THAT SHE JUST WANTS TO BE LEFT ALONE AND JACK WILL NOT LET IT HAPPEN.
JACK TOLD ME THAT SINCE THANKSGIVING, JILL HAS BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH FROM NOT TALKING TO HIM AND TALKING TO HIM. HE SAYS THAT SHE LISTENS TO THE SCRIPTURE ON THE COMPUTER MORE THAN SHE LISTENS TO HIM. JACK SAID TWO NIGHTS AGO, JILL TELLS HIM, “WE CAN’T SLEEP TOGETHER.” HE TELLS JILL THAT HE IS TIRED AND DIDN’T WANT TO LEAVE. HE SAID THAT JILL THEN TOLD HIM, “THEN I WILL HAVE TO KILL YOU.” JACK SAID HE GOT UP AND WENT INTO THE OTHER ROOM.
I ASKED JACK IF HE WAS SCARED. HE SAID NO, BECAUSE HE DIDN’T BELIEVE HER.
I HANDED EACH OF THEM A DOMESTIC RIGHTS PACKET AND ENCOURAGED TO SEEK COUNSELING.
ACTION RECOMMENDED:
CASE CLOSED.
A few days later Jack jokes about the encounter and the made up threat on many different social networking websites on the internet.
Guess what happens a few days later; Jack breaks into Jill’s locked bedroom, climbs on top of Jill in her sleep and tries to rape her. Jill, startled awake, responds by throwing a soda can, plastic cup, and a glass at Jack in order to stop the attempted rape. All these items and similar items are next to Jull’s bed. The glass hits Jack in the face and breaks, causes a half inch cut and he runs downstairs and calls the cops.
When the cops show up, Jill says Jack tried to rape me and I want my GD attorney!!! When the cops talk to Jack, he says that there was a heated religious argument over “religious issues” They arrest Jill and read her, her rights and is taken into custody WITHOUT WEARING UNDERGARMENTS; she is ultimately charged with a Measure 11 Offense for cutting Jack.
The police go upstairs and see a broken glass and blood in Jill’s bed, as well as the other items. Greenawald gets the case. Reads the police report from both cases. Greenawald says that Jill should have left and blames Jill saying that she is a violent person, needs anger management, probation, and stopping attempted rape with a glass is definitely domestic violence. Jill had allowed Jack to return to the home prior to the incidents for the sake of the children, but Jill was concerned about the ongoing abuse. Jack had lost custody and is not allowed to see his 3 other children without strict supervision. Jill cops to a plea for misdemeanor assault. Goes to jail for 30 days. Jill had absolutely no criminal history, but now she does. 3 days before sentencing, Jack writes a bad check against Jill’s checking account; overdrawing it. Jack who had less than a majority of the custody also fraudulently applied for and received welfare benefits.
If Greenawald is responsible for developing training materials and policies to better track domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking investigations, she may want to review and revise the Portland Police Website accordingly. In plain English the government website titled, “Sexual Assault Against Adults” clearly states, “Weapons have the potential to incapacitate an assailant, but must be available and ready to use. They can be taken away and used against us, or they may not work as expected. Ordinary objects at home, school, or work are often more available than those we purchase for defense.” further down the same page, “If we choose to fight, we must be committed to injuring the rapist. Expect blows to be returned. Our wits, the element of surprise, and well-placed strikes to vulnerable body parts are our greatest weapons for creating an escape with physical defense. Research indicates that acting aggressively early in the face of an immediate threat increases our chances of creating an escape.”
Sure, I suppose that Erin is an effective crime fighter. There are several videos on You Tube about this matter.
