Join Steve Wohlers this Sunday as he interviews Kari Clark, director of “TIP” of Linn County. The Trauma Intervention Program provides victims of fire, accidents and other traumatic events with emotional first aid and practical support. Kari will discuss her group of volunteers and an upcoming training session for people interested in helping others.

Recently KFIR had the pleasure of putting tickets for the Obama inauguration into the hands of Corvallis resident Judy Fortmiller. For this Sunday’s Community Forum, Steve Wohlers gets the chance to interview Judy. Listen in to get a first hand perspective from someone who was on the ground at the inauguration.

Community Forum – Sunday, January 25th

Jay Burcham, an Albany based metals dealer, joins Steve Wohlers to discuss the proposed legislation to combat metal theft. Such legislation may require metal dealers to retain details of all metal sales, similar to the way gun retailers are regulated. This could include photos of sellers and possibly a waiting period of 3 or 10 days to complete the sale.

Firefighters from all over the west coast will be gathering this weekend in Salem. The 2nd Annual Firefighter Safety & Survival Symposium kicks off today, Friday the 9th. Join KFIR’s Steve Wohlers as he interviews Troy Buzalsky and Sam Phillips to discuss this year’s Symposium, themed “The Art of Survival”.
