LINN DEPUTIES INVESTIGATE SWEET HOME RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY

Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his deputies are investigating a robbery that occurred in the 2000 block of Birch Street in Sweet Home. This morning at 7:07 a.m., the Linn County 911 Dispatch Center received a call from a victim and deputies responded to the residence. The 56- year- old male victim told deputies this morning he woke up to a male standing over him, shining a light in his eyes and demanding money. The victim resisted and was choked by the suspect during the altercation. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and several knives from the residence. The victim had minor injuries and refused any medical treatment. The suspect is described as an adult male, wearing a ski mask and possibly known by the victim. At this time, deputies do not believe there was any weapon used by the suspect. Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies and Sweet Home Police have been searching the area for the suspect. If anyone has any information about this case, please contact Detective John Lovik II with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office at (541)-967-3950. The investigation is ongoing.
